Barbara's Story

Barbara A. Johns, age 80 and former resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away in Claremore, Oklahoma on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Barbara Alspaugh was born on January 25, 1937 in Sentinel, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of William Chester Alspaugh and Eva Valora (Sherman) Alspaugh. She grew up in Oklahoma City and attended N.W. Classen High School where she met Dan Cline, who would become her future husband.

In 1955, Barbara and Dan Cline were united in marriage. They were the parents of Daniel, Jr., Renee and Stacey. Barbara and Dan were divorced in 1988.

Barbara was employed with Stark Insurance in Stillwater, Oklahoma as an insurance agent for 26 years prior to moving to Bartlesville. In Bartlesville, she worked for Bill Hartz Insurance until her retirement in 2010.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Bartlesville and was very active in Beta Sigma Pi Sorority. Other memberships included the Business and Professional Women Organization where she served as President twice; Republican Women Organization; and she was a strong supporter of Veterans organizations.

Survivors include her three children, Daniel Howard Cline, Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Renee Redmond and her husband, Jeff, of Claremore, and Stacey Smith and her husband, Don, of Ketchum, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Blake Cline, Darren Cline, Andrea Wolfe, Teddy Williams, Daniel Williams and Dylan Smith; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Alspaugh and Wayne Newport., of Ketchum, Oklahoma and Dana Price and her husband, Roger, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Barbara's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Seasons Hospice for their loving and compassionate care, as well as to the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home for their complete attention to every detail.
