Betty  Hudson


Betty Marie Hudson, 87, of Longview Texas, passed away on September 2, 2019, at home, surrounded by family. A visitation will begin at 1:00pm followed by funeral services at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Christian Union Church in Tryon, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Tryon Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty was born on January 14, 1932 to Harry and Virginia Thompson in the Tryon rural area. She was a graduate of Sandy Land Grade School and Tryon High School.

Betty loved her family, church, shopping for bargains, biscuits and gravy, coffee and most of all, her Lord. She was a dedicated Christian, kind, faithful, classy and a role model for others.
She was a retired Physical Therapy Assistant and member of Liberty Free Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Pam Gatton and husband, Steve, of Longview, Texas; grandson, Shawn Gatton and wife, Samantha, of Juneau Alaska; granddaughter, Heather Tikhonoff and husband, Justin, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Holly Gatton of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Maggie and Reid Gatton of Juneau and Hudson Tikhonoff of Oklahoma City.

The family requests that Memorials may be made to Liberty Free Methodist Church.

Pallbearers - Steve Gatton, Shawn Gatton, Justin Tikhonoff, Jack Pugh, Gene Grimes, and Bill Grimes.

I did not know Betty well but she was such a sweet lady. My Dad (Willard (Red) Hicks and her Dad were best bud's as long as he was alive. My Dad talked about Betty & her Dad often. I know she will be missed greatly. My prayers for all the family.
