Charles "Fred" Carnes

Charles Fred Carnes C. Fred Carnes, age 87, of Perkins, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Paul Dawson, will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Cimarron Valley Church in Perkins under the direction of Strode Funeral Home and Cremation. Inurnment will be in the Marena Cemetery.

Fred was born in Marena, Oklahoma to Jonas and Maude (Henderson) Carnes on February 20, 1932. He attended public school in Coyle, where he graduated high school. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and worked as a truck driver.

Fred was a member of Cimarron Valley Church, and was also a volunteer firefighter in Coyle. He was a member of the Coyle Lions Club, the Road Knights Motorcycle Club, the Wheeler Dealer Camping Club, and was an honorary Chapter Farmer of the Coyle FFA.

Members of his family include his beloved wife Patsy, whom he married in 1962; his daughters Vicky Mills and husband Joe, and Jonese Bostian and husband Kevin and their families; his four grandchildren: Amanda (Bostian) Miles and husband James; Lauren (Bostian) Lowery and husband Bob; Dusty Kelly and wife Ashton; and Chance Mills and wife Kelly. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
