Charles Johnson, 90, entered Heaven's Gate on March 23rd 2017 in Modesto, CA. Charles was born in Chicago, IL to Thurston and Delores Johnson. Charles was a resident of Modesto, CA in the 1970s as a founding partner of Doctor's Medical Center. He moved to Stillwater, OK, his childhood home, and continued his private practice as an outstanding anesthesiologist for over 50 years.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Edith June Johnson, his parents Thurston and Delores Johnson, and siblings Delores Thompson and Noel Johnson.

Charles leaves behind his children Miyuki Brey, Ron Johnson, Mike Johnson, and Amy Bradley; and step daughters Roberta Dorow and Patricia Oldham. Charles also leaves a loving sister Lorna Flippo, and 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Charles served as a Lieutenant Camander in the United States Navy.

Charles, lovingly known as Charlie, was loved by all who were blessed to know him. He was very active in his church in Stillwater, OK as well as having an immense passion for the preservation of the banjo. He helped organize, fund, and establish the American Banjo Museum in Oklahoma City.

Final resting place with be at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, OK. Donations in Charlie's name may be made to the American Banjo Museum in Oklahoma City.
