Charles's Story

Charles Edward Liebenau, Jr, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home at the age of 81 years.
The son of the late Charles Edward Liebenau, Sr. and Mattie Marie Campbell Liebenau, Charles was born on February 21, 1937 in Webster, Kansas. Charles family origin is White/German.
Charles served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 to 1971; serving during the Vietnam War.
Charles was united in marriage to Connie Louise Hawkins on April 17, 1981 in Stillwater. The couple enjoyed antiques together, owning Old Songs Sung Here Antique Shop in downtown Cushing.
Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge; VFW; DAV and American Legion. He enjoyed sports and was instrumental in starting Little Leagues in Greeley, Colorado in the early 1970s. He coached many little league teams and was proud that his last team, Charlies Angels, ended their season 21-0. Charles was part of the first Toys For Tots in Omaha Nebraska. Charles also had a passion for classic cars; he and Connie had many trips showing cars.
Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home; children, DJ Burke and husband, Jerry of Arizona, Chuck Liebenau III and wife, DeeDee, of Stillwater; Denise Greene and husband, Gary, of Tennessee, Belinda Babbette of Louisiana, Dean McCullough of Ponca City and Tim McCullough and wife, Rena, of Cushing; one sister, Jackie Brown and husband, George, of Illinois; one brother-in-law, Ray Meisinger of Perkins; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by one infant sister, JoAnn and one sister, Charlene.
Memorial services will be April 20th, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Floyd Family Center, just East of the Davis Funeral Home with Military and Masonic Rights.
