Chester Frank Zamskie, 79, passed away on January 7 , 2018 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services will be at a later date in Ohio. Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater has been entrusted with arrangements.
Chester was born on May 18, 1938 in Dillonvale, Ohio to Julius and Frances (Kowalski) Zamskie. Chester grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School.

After high school Chester enlisted in the United States Army where he retired with a CSM Rank. Command Sergeant Major Zamskie was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal W/1 Silver & 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachute Badge, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Bronze Star Medal W/1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal W/1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Legion of Merit and Army Service Ribbon. Some others include Meritorious Service Medal W/1st oak Leaf Cluster, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon 2, NCO Professeional Development Ribbon 4, Expert (M-16 Rifle).

Chester is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Zach Larnerd and Granddaughter Miranda Larnerd.
He is survived by his significant other Carol Ricord, his children Jack Zamskie, Nanette Tomchick (Zamskie), Deborah Larnerd (Zamskie), Michelle Ricord and Nicky Ricord as well as eight grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Julius Zamskie and his wife Bridgette, Nancy (Zamskie) Beck and her Husband Ross, Rich and Wilma Dundr and Dave Dundr.
