Daniel F. Morton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 5, 2019. No services are planned at this time. A private memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dan was born in Gore, OK to Henry F. Morton and Minnie Ethel Mathews on February 7, 1932. He was the tenth of twelve children. He graduated from Vian High School and attended Oklahoma State University for Bachelors and Masters degrees. He joined the Army National Guard in 1949. He served as Sgt in the Army 45th Division 120th Engineers in Korea.

Dan married Johnnye L. Koonce in 1955 in Abilene, TX. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He worked twenty years with OSU Cooperative Extension as County Agent in Choctaw and Seminole counties.

Dan was an avid artist in multiple medias. His favorite was pen and ink on leather. His artwork included found object art and recycled material art. Other activities he enjoyed was taking his grandchildren fishing.

Dan was survived by his wife, Johnnye and four children. Diane Limbaugh and husband Rob, Garry Morton and wife Brenda, Susan Weber and husband Paul, Sandy Everett and husband Reggie. Ten grandchildren: Zachary Collett and wife Lea Anne, Jared Collett and wife Yvonne, Corey Collett and wife Dayna, Jennifer Dobson and husband Matthew, Jamie Weber and boyfriend Eric Wilmoth, Brandon Morton and wife Krissi, Justin Morton and wife Brittany, Courtney Dornan and husband Corey, Samantha Everett and Mackenzie Everett. He was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren. He was survived by his older brothers Don and James. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and six brothers.
