Delles was born March 23, 1945 to W.D. and Berdella Eggers. Delles graduated from Morrison High School and attended Northern Oklahoma College and Oklahoma State University. Delles served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On March 24, 1968 Delles was united in marriage with Audrey Motley. Audrey and Delles lived in the Morrison area their entire married life.

Delles's passion was work. Delles, W.D., Virginia, and Wayne Reed made the Eggers Farm Supply and farming operation hum for decades. Many men worked alongside them through the years in the fields and farm supply. Delles was adamant that he preferred people who hadn't worked for another farmer so "he could train them right." Whether they were high school, college, or vet med students, they left their employment with Eggers Farms knowing how to haul hay, work ground, or assemble equipment his way. "He was the workin'est dude" was said in many ways as friends described him to his children.

Delles was a long-time member of the Morrison Lions Club. His efforts to improve the community of Morrison with the help of fellow Lions was very important to him. He took great joy in the early morning Lions Club presentations of students from Morrison who had bested students from more affluent schools at academic competitions. His pride in the growth and success of the Morrison school system was based on their current performance, not the good old days. He funded a Morrison Community Development Association working scholarship to make sure that students who graduated without the intention of going to college had a scholarship to buy a new set of work boots and necessary work clothing. Delles was President of the Morrison Cemetery and a member of Alumni Association Committee.

Delles was active in Zion Lutheran Church as a Greeter, Offering counter, Usher, Trustee, and Elder. Delles and Audrey led the Walther League (youth group) as a young married couple. As their children matured and moved away, Audrey and Delles continuously gave of their time and talents in complementary ways. Many members of Zion have shared, "Delles was the first person to welcome us to the congregation. He made us feel like we belonged."

Delles beloved wife Audrey of nearly 50 years preceded him in death by 56 days. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie Eggers; brother, Brent Eggers, parents W.D. and Berdella Eggers, parents in law Alice Marie and Arlis Motley; and brother-in-law Harold Motley.

Delles Eggers is survived by his son, Timothy Eggers of Shenandoah, Iowa and daughter, Roxanne and son-in-law Nicholas Joslin of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Mother Virginia Eggers of Morrison. Delles is also survived by four grandsons, Milton, Dietrich, Ian and Barnabas; two granddaughters, Myrdin and Gwendolyn; sister in in law, Arlene Rath of Oklahoma City; brother in law, James and his wife Janna Motley of Hollis; and sister-in-law, Rosemarie Motley of Mandeville, Louisiana.
