The Word of the Lord expresses to exit from this present life and human body means to be present with him, the Lord saw fit to call his faithful servant Doris Jean Rolland Lawerence home on June 13, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie L. Westbrook Bryant, and Elize Rolland. Doris Jean Rolland Lawerence was born to Minnie L. Westbrook Bryant and Elize Rolland on Feb. 2, 1946, in Stillwater, Okla. She grew up in the Pawnee and Stillwater communities and attended school in these communities until her day of graduation in Pawnee, Okla., at Pawnee High School. She later furthered her education at a community college in Pawnee, Okla., and graduated with a degree in graphic design. Doris Jean Lawerence worked for the United Methodist Church in Augusta, Kan., and retired from Helig Meyer Furniture in Stillwater, Okla. Doris Jean Rolland Lawerence was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Stillwater, Okla., under the leadership of the Rev. Calvin Miller. She later married James I. Lawerence and was married for 25 years in Enid, Okla., and to this union seven children were born: Troy L. Lawerence (Dallas, Texas), Jaime J. Lawerence (Plainsville, Kan.), Jackie D. Lawerence (Wichita, Kan.), Candice L. Lawerence (Wichita, Kan.), Mark I. Lawerence (Lexington, Okla.), Charlene S. Lawerence (Wichita, Kan.), and LaTonya Lawerence (Wichita, Kan.). She also has 22 grandchildren. She leaves to mourn her departure from this life seven children; 22 grandchildren; one stepfather, Frankie L. Bryant; three brothers, John Andrew, Earnest Jr. and William, and two sisters, Margie and Veronica; and a host of cousins, nephew and nieces and friends. The family of Doris Jean Rolland Lawerence would like to thank all family and friends for your kind words and generous contributions along with your love and support. May God bless and keep you all! Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater and will be held at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, 5106 N. Washington in Stillwater, on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m.
