Earl Leon Somers 51 of Sapulpa, OK passed from this life July 25, 2018 in Tulsa. Earl was born on June 27, 1967 in Altus, OK to John Larry and Sandra (Cheesman)Somers.
Earl graduated from Glencoe High School with the class of 1985. After high school Earl joined the Air Force where for 10 years he was a Crewchief on F16 and Stealth Fighters. He served two tours in Korea, one tour in Saudi Arabia as well as Texas, Georgia, North Dakota, New Mexico and California. After leaving the Air Force, he became a truck driver until he was diagnosed with cancer 8 1/2 years ago.
Earl was a huge Star Wars and Star Trek fan attending as many conventions as he was able. A lover of music, comic books and avid reader. He put on the best 4th of July fireworks displays for his family. He loved getting together with family no matter the reason. Earl married the love of his life Robin Lee Lazarowicz on October 6, 2001 in Stillwater, OK. He cherished his wife and children most of all, making sure he attended all of their activities even when he did not feel well.
Earl is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Jacob and Rhoda Mae Somers, C.W. and Eva May Cheesman, three uncles David Leon Dwinell, Daniel Earl Dwinell and Gary Wayne Somers, two cousins Aaron Dwinell and Tommy Harrington.
Earl is survived by his wife Robin of the home, daughter Samantha Marie and fiance Charlie Holub of Stillwater, son Benjamin Lucas of the home. His parents John and Sandra Somers of Glencoe, sister Jennifer Pop, her children Nicholas, Rachel and Ryan of Glencoe, sister Rebecca and her husband Matthew Sloan and daughter Finley of Stillwater, brother Justin, his wife Ashley and their children Christopher, Keagan and Kinzley of Tahlequah. He leaves behind many other family members and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 4 pm at Glencoe First Baptist Church, 120 West Main St, Glencoe, OK with Pastor John Kuhn officiating.
Should friends and family desire, Earl requested that memorial contributions be made to his children for future major life events that he wished he could have been present for. Contributions can be directed to Earl L. Somers Memorial Fund at the RCB Bank, 5000 W Kenosha St, Broken Arrow, OK.
