Eloise's Story

Eloise Georgia Longan, 88, died on September 15, 2016 at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Family will greet friends on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 at Strode Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at The Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coyle, Ok.
Eloise was born on May 3, 1928 to George and Viola Vines in Winnsboro, Louisiana. She married Kenneth Ray Longan on December 21, 1945 in Louisiana.
Eloise was a Homemaker and cashiered at Gibson's Discount Center then went to work for and retired from OSU.
Eloise loved to travel in their motor home. She loved listening to country music. She had a great love and devotion for her family. Eloise was dexterous in the kitchen and sure that it helped her have an advantage because she was a culinary mistress, family and friends will tell you that her cooking was fabulous.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson; Terry Sylvester, brother; Lawrence Vines, sister; Mary Vines.
She is survived by one son Troy Longan and wife Sherri of Stillwater, Ok., Six daughters; Donna Sylvester of Newcastle, Ok. Linda Butler and husband Jay of Stillwater, Ok. Marilyn Longan of Perkins, Ok. Patty Nondorf and husband Tony of Mexico, Mo. Janice Harris and husband Dave of Perkins, Ok. Sherri Barnard and husband Ray of Stillwater, Ok. as well as 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Troy Longan, Kenny Sylvester, Steve Sylvester, Brian Breeden, Jason Estes and Clint Taylor.
