Keith L. Smalley, 84, died on November 27, 2016 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Graveside service will be 2:00 Friday, December 2nd at Oak Grove Cemetery in Perkins, Ok. Strode Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Keith was born on August 17, 1932 on a farm east of Coyle to Keith and Wilma Smalley. He attended and graduated from Coyle High School in 1950. He attended several universities in his studies of Agriculture Education. He graduated from OSU with an Agriculture Education Degree and he also attained a Master's Degree of Adult Education at OU. He taught Vocational Agriculture for several years before going to work for USDA, Farmers Home Administration. He was director of the first training center located in Norman. After opening two others in Kansas and Florida, he came back to Oklahoma in 1983 as the District Director in Wilburton. He met Doris Morgan and fell in love. She was also working for FmHA and they were married in 1992 while working in Washington D.C. It was a match made in heaven. They were best friends, enjoyed being together and traveled all over the United States.
He is preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Pat Smalley; one sister, Kenita Luster and one grandchild, Jarrod Smalley.
He is survived by Doris Smalley of the home, two sons; Kirk Smalley of Perkins, Kim Smalley of Coyle and spouses, four daughters; Heather Smalley of Omaha, Nebraska, Kathryn Milligan of Wayne, Nebraska, Karri DuBois of Argyle, Texas, Kristi and Byron Hughes of Tuttle and one brother, Tim Smalley of Stillwater, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also three step-children; Charles Morgan and spouse of Newalla, Marianne Long and spouse of Shawnee and John Morgan and spouse of Prague, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Family will be at Progress School after the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Oak Grove Cemetery Association or charity of choice.
