Marhyiah Lea Parmley, Oklahoma City resident, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the age of 22 years.
The daughter of Roy Frances Parmley and Regina Ross Cooksey, Marhyiah was born on October 25, 1994 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was raised in Perry, Cushing and Oklahoma City, graduating from Cushing High School with the class of 2014. Marhyiah attended the First Church of God. She loved to play musical instruments, playing football and spending time with children, especially her nieces and nephews. Her favorite sporting teams were Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys. Marhyiah was known for her big heart, she loved everyone and was very ambitious in life.
Survivors include her father, Roy Parmley and fiancé Lorene of Kimball, Nebraska; mother, Regina Cooksey and husband John of Stillwater, grandparents, Loretta Cooksey and husband Gerald of Cushing, James Ross, Sr. of Decatur, Illinois, Gerrie Stephens and husband Bobby of Stillwater, Jessie and Andy Newton and step-grandparents, Howard and Barbara Cooksey of Stillwater; great-grandmothers, Ruby Harrison of Perry and Magdaline Brown of Decatur, Illinois; brothers & sisters, Derieck Kelly and wife Makenzy of Tulsa, Mary Mochel of Overland Park, Kansas, Loretta Parmley of Okmulgee and Roy Parmley of Stillwater; aunts and uncles, Amanda Harrell and husband David, Tina Johnson and husband Jeremiah, Curtis Parmley, Ike Parmley, Katrina Parmley, James Ross, Jr, Zach Stephens and wife Brooke, Alex Stephens and Tonwa Stephens; several great-aunts and uncles, including Dorothy Parmley and Gene Parmley; Marhyiah's boyfriend, Joseph Castor and his son Jesse Castor and good friend, Paul Leverich; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Marhyiah's life will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the First Church of God with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the Floyd Family Center, East of the Davis Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Church of God Operation Christmas, 501 N Noble Cushing OK 74023.
