Norma Lee Phillips (nee Branch) was born on September 8, 1927 to Ethel and Clarence Branch. She was the first of 11 children. As the oldest of 11, she was a second mother to her younger siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated from Guthrie High School in 1945 after which she married R. B. Phillips and they had 5 children. After moving to Stillwater in 1965, she became a familiar face at Consumers IGA grocery store where she worked from 1965 until her retirement in 1994. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed entertaining her friends at club. Another passion was her garden, where she grew both flowers and vegetables. Norma loved puzzles and games of every kind and taught each of her grandchildren everything from Scrabble to Yahtzee.
Norma went to live with her heavenly father on January 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Vernon Branch and sister Carolyn Branch Hall, plus two sons; Robert Burns Bobby Phillips, Jr. and David Dwayne Phillips. She is survived by eight siblings, three daughters, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons. A private celebration of her life will held on March 12 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Friends who would like to attend should contact a family member for more information.
