
Sharon Lewis

Sharon was born in Geneseo, Kansas on January 9, 1939 to Guilford Red and Bernice (Hagler) Chestnut. She grew up in Kansas and Ponca City, OK. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1957. Kay married Kenneth Skip Lewis on June 2, 1956 and they eventually settled in Tryon, OK. where they raised two daughters.
Kay worked for the Tryon school system and was an active member in the First Baptist Church. She had a love for farming and gardening.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years; both parents; her father and mother in law, Carl and Ruby Lewis; one brother, Bruce Chestnut.
Kay is survived by two daughters, Sherri Lewis and Jeannie (Roy) Layes, both of Stillwater, OK; two grandsons, Matthew G. Layes (Kallie Biggs) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Mitchell (Valerie) Layes of Stillwater, OK; one grandson, Brayden; two step sisters, Sue Woodard and Lou Hilburn of Moore, OK; three sister-in-laws, Jo Ventris of Stillwater, OK; Bobbi (Larry) Moss of Mineral Wells, TX. And Hazel Chestnut of Dover, OK; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
