Susan Miller Causley
She attend Stillwater Public Schools and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1988. Susie attended Oklahoma State University and Tarrant County Junior College in Arlington, Texas.
Susie and James E. Causley were married at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma on September 28, 1993 and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana.
Susie and James were blessed with two daughters: Barbara "Barbie" (21) and Elleanor "Ellie"(17).
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, deacon and in children's ministry. Susie was a dedicated wife, mother and friend, and enjoyed working as an educator and caregiver.
Many would agree Susie was a bright light and soothing presence in the lives of many and will be remembered for her intelligent wit, love of literature, movies and music.
Susie was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Barbie Johnson, nephew John Bryan Johnson and step-father Derrill E. Smith.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters of the home; sister Nancy Chapa of Chicago, Illinois, nephew Daniel Chapa IV and niece Miranda L. Chapa; sister Lori Fagan, nieces Rachel D. Fagan and Jessica L. Fagan; niece Elizabeth Johnson Pabon of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her three children; and her loving Aunt Krispy Zeuger, cousins Lynn, Terry and Jodi and additional cousins; and extended family Fred and Mary Causley of Stillwater, Oklahoma, brother-in-law Fred Causley, Jr. and numerous life-long friends.
The family will be present at a visitation at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater, Monday, December 17 from 6-7:30p.m.
Funeral services are set for Tuesday, December 18 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater.
Susie has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to Planned Parenthood or Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
