Virginia's Story

Virginia Moody passed away early Tuesday morning in Cushing at the age of 89 years.
The daughter of the late, Henry Wagoner and Dorothy Travis Wagoner, Virginia was born on September 27, 1928 in Elkhart, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to Emal Moody on September 21, 1946 and to this union five children, Danny, Ronny, Mike, Jody and Connie were born. Emal preceded her in death on October 9, 1998.
Virginia was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed her church and was an avid Bible reader; she also enjoyed flower gardening, collecting dolls and enjoyed playing softball and watching sports, especially the Oklahoma Sooners. Virginia was a seamstress and made many of the clothes for her children while they were growing up.
She is survived by her children, Danny Moody and his wife Sharon, Ronny Moody and his wife Debbie, Mike Moody, Jody Jester and her husband Thomas and Connie Florer and her husband John; 15 grandchildren, Teresa (Burt) Hunziker, Cheryl Moody, David Jester, Brian Jester, Riley Jester, Stacey (Mickey) Brown, Kelly Baxter, Billy Moody, JJ (Angela) Dooley, Mandi Moody, Jerry (Will) Lawson, Lauri (Jason) Hazelton Vickie (Dereck) Abney, Keisha Moody and James (Destiny) Moody; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vi Wygal; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers, Reverend Henry Wagoner, Jr. and Virgil Wagoner.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Skinner, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
