Alice Marie Strader, a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Sunday morning in Cherokee at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held on Monday March, 20th at 2 p.m. at the Yale Assembly of God, Yale. Brother Mich Dershem will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, Ok.

Alice was born on March 16, 1934 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Joel and Bertha Ozella (Ballard) Broyles. She grew up in Yale and graduated from Yale High School in 1952. Alice married the love of her life Charles Strader on March 15, 1952 in the First Baptist Church in Yale.
Alice worked as a pastry Chef at OSU from 1972-82, she organized the flammettes in 1979, which helped the local firefighters with food and refreshments. Her and Charles also managed the Yale Swimming pool from 1972-77, she also sold Tupperware and wrote many books, when she was not working she loved sewing and quilting and made very beautiful quilts for loved ones. Alice is survived by her daughter Melissa Kennedy and husband Mike of Stillwater, son Michael Strader and wife Paula of Yale, brothers: Joe "Buddy" Broyles and wife Lois of Cushing, Bob Johnston and wife Lea of Norman, Greg Johnston and wife Nita of Haven, Ks., sisters: Ann Adkins and husband David of Tulsa, Sue Clanin of Oklahoma, Elsie Johnson of Ardmore, Kenneth Brecht of Ardmore, Carolyn Nalley of Ardmore, grandchildren: Charles "Terry Kennedy and wife Jessica, Ashley Kennedy and Adam Strader and wife Lindsey, great grandchildren: Addison Kennedy and Jacob Strader, and baby Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, and infant one son Frankie.
