Anna Louise Harper, 76, died on April 20, 2017, near Cushing, Oklahoma. Her funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Olivet Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Anna was born on July 27, 1940 to Leslie John Holdeman and Myrtle Anna Peterson in Pawnee, County.
She attended Olive Hill Primary School in Pawnee, and proceeded to graduate from Perkins High School as valedictorian. Following High School Anna attended Nursing School in Wichita Falls, Texas where she earned her nursing degree as a registered nurse. In her last year of nursing school she joined the Army because she wanted to see the world. During her Army career she was stationed in Germany where she was able to see much of Europe. She was a caring nurse and worried about her patients and did all she could for them.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Harper; 1 brother, Leslie Gene Holdeman; and 1 sister, Elsie Fae Brown.
She is survived by her three sisters, Ella Mae Turner and Gerald; Rhoda Jane Valentine; and Edna Ruth Hammons. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.
