Brice's Story

Text size

How do you sum up the life of such a colorful man in a simple short story? Well today we must try... Brice Gavin Robinson was an unpolished diamond of a Brother, super fun Uncle, crazy ornery Nephew and the most loyal Friend. We would like to honor and remember Brice with laughter, wild & crazy stories and lessons learned from the struggles he tried so hard to overcome. We will remember Brice's life as we do the beloved characters of the Dukes of Hazzard. He was "Just a good ol' boy never meanin' no harm" but always finding himself in a pickle."

Brice Gavin Robinson, came into this world on March 6th, 1984 son of David "Bear" and Peggy Robinson. Brice left this world on January 27th, 2017. He lived a full life in his 32 years but we wish he was here for many more.

Brice grew up and lived much of his life in Morrison where he learned to drive on the farm, down country roads. Anyone that saw him coming knew to give him a little extra room to pass. To this day, we believe he holds the record for the most water logged, wrecked, and repo'ed trucks in Morrison's history! He graduated from Morrison High School in 2002 with lifelong friends and ambition running through his veins. Brice left his mark at many jobs as he searched for a career path, Mercruiser, Ditch Witch, Manko just to name a few; but he found his passion when he found the oil field.

Brice lived in many places while working in the oil field and was proud to be called an "Oily." He had many passions in life but one seemed to "out grow" the rest. Those of us that followed him on Facebook knew that he had an even bigger crush than the oil field. He posted about the love of his life everyday and sometimes twice per day. This crush turned into something we can only describe as an obsession. Yes, we all knew that obsession was his beard!!!

Brice left this earth much too early but we know he was welcomed home with open arms by his mother, who departed this earth just four short months before him. We all knew he missed his mother dearly but now we know he truly was a "Mama's Boy." ;-) We hope they are looking down on us today and realizing how important this young man was to his family, how much his nephews and young kids in his life idolized him, and how many lives he impacted for the better.

Brice's life is another example of that ole adage "the good die young." Those who knew him well knew he wasn't perfect but his short comings were easily overshadowed by his humor, huge heart and his desire to be the man we all knew he could be. Brice was always the funniest and loudest guy in the room, he was loyal and would be there for you anytime, anywhere, unless it was too early, too late, too far, too hot, too cold or his tummy hurt. His adventurous spirit and his bad boy charm is why he usually found himself in deep water. He might be a little embarrassed at some of his foolish moments in life but when a story was told about him he would quickly jump in to add a few additional details that did NOT help his case in seeming less foolish. ;-) We have to pick on him a little today because this is the first time we are able to tell a full story without him taking over the conversation. This is what he gets for leaving us so early in life and making us miss him so much.

He leaves behind the last of his dysfunctional family led by his brothers David Hawkins and spouse Jennifer; Creed Robinson and spouse Cassie; nephews Gage, Kade, Kealan, and Zhane Robinson; many aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and many friends. God brought him home to see his Father David "Bear" Robinson, Mother Peggy Rymer Robinson and Grandparents and several others we wish were still here on Earth.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 pm at the Morrison Christian Church with Reverend Roy Fleshman officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, OK, on Thursday February 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Morrison Christian Church.
