Elvin Earl Miner, age 78 of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on December 8, 2016. His funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at Crosspointe Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Burial will follow the funeral at Tryon Cemetery. Minister and dear family friend Glen Rowan of First Baptist Church in Hulbert, Oklahoma will be officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Elvin was born on May 3, 1938 In Stroud, Oklahoma to Oliver Pearl Miner and Sylvia Davidison Miner.
He enlisted in the army at the age of sixteen. He toured in Korea for sixteen months where he was made First Sergeant. When he returned home he married the love of his life Shirley Rose Miner.
Earl worked for OG&E for nineteen years. He later went into business for himself as an Oilfield Electrician. He was the proud owner of Earl Oil until he passed. It is his sons' honor to now run and operate Earl Oil for their Father. He enjoyed camping and fishing at Oklahoma lakes with his brother. He played golf almost every day with his closest friends until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He also was able to enjoy traveling in his RV with his wife.
He is preceded by his parents.
Earl is survived by his wife, Shirley Rose Miner, and his two sons, Rickey Miner and Rusty Miner.
He also leaves behind four granddaughters Brandi Miner-Robertson, Brooke Miner-Brant, Kelsie Miner, Brinna Miner and three great grandchildren Nash Robertson, Konner Robertson and Landri Brant.
