Esther Mitchell went into the arms of Jesus April 3, 2017. Esther was less than one hour into her 81st birthday and was born in Sapulpa, OK April 2, 1936. Esther was happiest on a horse or in the mountains hoping to strike it rich.
Esther lived in Stillwater with her parents, Joe and Annie Brooner and siblings; Virginia, Joe, and Omer until high school when she moved to Kansas City. Esther raised her daughters, Sherrie Starr and Linda Evans in Kansas City and worked at Wilcox Electric Company. She later worked at Sperry-Vickers in Tulsa before pursuing her dream of prospecting for gold in the streams and mountains of Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. Esther returned to Dallas, Texas working at HyLite before retiring in 2001 and settling in Stillwater.
Esther is survived by her daughters; Sherrie Starr of San Diego, CA and Linda Evans of Pleasant Hill, MO. Esther had four grandchildren; Timothy Starr, Nathan Starr, Hannah Bayard and Bethany Joseph as well as one great granddaughter, Abigail Starr. Esther's sister-in-law Others who survive are; Ramona Brooner and her children Randy, Richard, Diana and Robert as well as Esther's brother Omer.
