Gregor Lewis Morgan, 64, passed away August 14, 2016. A Memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Stillwater, Ok. Thursday, August 18th at 3:00pm. Gregor was born April 14th, 1952 to Lewis and Shirley Morgan in Hamilton, New Zealand. He grew up on a dairy farm with his sister Jenni and brother Philip in Te Awamutu, NZ. He attended Massey University in NZ where he played rugby and went to veterinary school. He received his BVSc in Veterinary Medicine in 1976 and Master's Degree in 1977. He came to OSU in Stillwater, OK and completed a Theriogenology Residency and a PhD in Reproductive Physiology. He became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine & Surgery at the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and went on to become a Board Certified Theriogenologist, Associate Professor and Head of the Food Animal Section. He performed the first equine embryo transfer in Oklahoma, the first in vitro fertilized calf at OSU and was a reproductive specialist in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, camelids, pigs, dogs, deer and other exotics. He loved teaching interns, residents and students in the classroom, in the clinic and in the field.
In 1981 he married Sandra Gilbert and they bought their farm by Mehan, OK, where they raised cattle, Katahdin sheep and horses. They had two sons, Seth and Sean and he spent his most enjoyable hours being their father, coaching them and watching them play all of their sports, especially basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his son, Seth and wife Michelle of Guthrie, OK and their children Luke, Huck and Kennedy: his son Sean and wife Lindsey of Weatherford, OK; his family in New Zealand; mother, Shirley; sister Jenni & husband Norman Johnston; brother Philip & wife Lee Anne and his nieces Sophie ,Stephanie and Mikayla, nephews Simon, Ben and Gareth .
