Izzy Billington passed away peacefully at Brookdale Living Center on Thursday, July 20, 2016; after a 13 year battle with Alzheimer's. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel.
Izzy was born on May 5, 1923, in Laclede County, Missouri, to Jesse Harrison Breakfield and Gladys Fay Breakfield. Izzy was raised in Butler, MO, where she graduated from Butler High School and met the love of her life Eldridge (Edg) J Billington. They married on February 27, 1941. After Izzy and Edg were married Edg enlisted in the US Army to serve in WWII. After the war they settled in Mexico, MO, where they raised their family. Izzy was employed by AP Green Refractories as a Sales Correspondent until she retired.
Izzy was active in many groups and clubs but her family was the main focus in her life. In 1995, Edg and Izzy moved to Stillwater, OK, to be closer to their family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Grammy and "Grammy-the-Great".
She was predeceased by Edg, her parents and her sister Glennis. Izzy is survived by three children: Berre Billington, (Sonja), Dallas, TX; Jill Webber, (Bruce), Stillwater, and Kym Billington, Phoenix, AZ; and four grandchildren: Ryan Webber, (Jody), Edmond; Jess Webber, (Carrie), Oklahoma City; Tannis Billington, Tucson, AZ; and Tipton Billington, Durham, NC. She is also survived by four great-grandsons Cale Webber, Carch Webber, Benjamin Webber, Keller Webber and numerous nieces and nephews.
