Keith's Story

Keith Compton was born November 21, 1944 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Robert and Wava Compton. He passed from this life on November 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City.

Keith attended Stillwater High School, but joined the United States Navy before graduation, serving from 1965-1968. Keith worked as a mail carrier and retired from the United States Postal Service after 36 years of service. He was known for his great sense of humor, his enthusiasm for any sport, and his ability to always see the best in people. He enjoyed writing songs and singing, performing many times at the Oklahoma Opry. He also loved watching OSU play and watching his favorite game shows.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Carol Ann Clements and Sherrill Lavonne Wilson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: loving wife, Sally Compton; children: Rance Johnson and wife Maggie, Chris Compton and wife Leslie, Kyle Compton and wife Kelley, Jennifer Lancaster and husband Benjamin, and Erin Pratt and husband Tanner; grandchildren: Brendan, Caitlin, Briton, Sophie, Liam, Jaidyn, Mikenah, and Saoirse; brothers, Bob Roy Compton and Ronald Compton; sister, Teresa Tully; and his beloved dog, Cash.

A memorial ceremony to celebrate Keith's life will be held 2pm Friday, November 18 in the Resthaven Funeral Home chapel.
