Kenneth Dale's Story
Kenneth Dale Lane, 88, died on July 31, 2016 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Strode Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. Reverend Derrek Belase will be officiating.
Ken was born on July 21, 1928 to Odie C. Lane and Alma K. O'Bannon in Tarkio, Missouri. After meeting in college, he married Anna M. Ulmer on December 24, 1950 in Maryville, Missouri.
He graduated from Tarkio High School and advanced his studies at Tarkio College and Northwest Missouri State University. He worked in sales and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Ken was a member of Masonic Frontier Lodge #48 and India Shrine. He enjoyed playing Duplicate Bridge, golfing, singing in the church choir, watching OSU wrestle, and watching old westerns.
Ken is preceded in death by his son Bradley Lane, sister Sandy, and his parents.
Ken is survived by his wife of 65 years Anna M. Lane; daughters; Kenna Johnson and (Mike); Kathryn Williams (Evan); special friends Terry and Gary Varnell, daughters; Ashley (Heath) and Lindsay (Scott), who have been like family; sister; Doris Watkins; daughter-in-law Karene Lane.
Seven grandchildren; Jeff Petersen and (Nycole); Courtney Caudill (Jeff); Lindsey Svien (Jeff); Maggie Williams (Joe); Erik Lane (Jessica); Lara Rocha (Bruce); Lorin Lane (Emil) and ten wonderful and beloved great-grandchildren.
