Sue Carol (Swiggart) Perna died in Tulsa on February 4, 2017, following a brief illness.
Sue was born November 28, 1939 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Hurst Jefferson and Clemma (Holliday) Swiggart. After a brief residence in Denver, Colorado, the family moved to Tulsa where Sue, her sister Patricia Lee, and brother, Hurst Jr. grew up and attended school. Over the last two decades she compiled an extensive genealogy of her family history, which is a valued treasure to her family.
Sue was a beautiful soul and a spirited person who expressed herself through her art. She was an accomplished artist whose work was recognized in many local and regional art competitions, including Philbrook Museum of Art where her portrait of her daughter was once exhibited.
Survivors include her husband Anthony; daughter Cindy Hurst; son Larry Harden and wife Lisa and their children Annabelle and Andrew; son Ernest Harden; grandson Greg Hurst and wife Rachel and their three children; granddaughter Erin Collins and husband Paul and their three children. Survivors also include her brother Hurst Swiggart, Jr. and his wife Barbara, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Sue was predeceased by her parents and sister Patricia Lee McCutchen.
Funeral mass for her soul will be celebrated at 10AM February 13 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
