Anna Belle Horn Obituary

Stillwater, Oklahoma - Anna Belle Murray Horn, 84, beloved by so many, passed away on July 8, 2025, with her loving son and daughter by her side. A Celebration of Life will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Anna was born in a farmhouse in Helena, Oklahoma, on November 22, 1940. She spent her childhood and teenage years in Helena, graduating from Helena High School where she was the senior class president and salutatorian. Encouraged by a teacher who recognized her intellect, Anna decided to attend Oklahoma State University. There, on a blind date, she met the love of her life, Jerry Horn. Anna and Jerry married on January 21, 1961, in Helena.

Their life together took them to various places, including Denver, Colorado; Vermillion, South Dakota; Manhattan, Kansas; Commerce, Texas; and Kalamazoo, Michigan. They then happily retired in their favorite place, Stillwater, Oklahoma. While in Vermillion, Anna completed her degree at the University of South Dakota. Anna served as a long-time bookkeeper at McCullough Construction and held several positions at colleges and universities where she joyfully worked with the students.

Anna cherished spending time with family and friends. During the past year, she formed many special friendships at Primrose and especially enjoyed playing (and winning!) bingo with these friends. Anna was also an avid reader, a devoted card player, a staunch OSU Cowboy fan, and a devout church member. Famous for her cooking, Anna thankfully passed down her scrumptious family recipes to her children and grandchildren. In recent years, nothing delighted Anna more than interacting with her great-grandchildren, who adored her.

Anna has entered heaven to reunite with her dear husband, Jerry, who preceded her in death.

Anna is survived by her children David and wife Betsy Horn and Marnie Horn. Granddaughters, Callie and husband Michael Albert and Katie and husband Andrew Davis; her great-grandchildren, Gabe and Brody Davis and Emma and Grace Albert.

Anna's granddaughters aptly captured the essence of this remarkable woman by describing her as attentive, patient, supportive, spiritual, graceful, positive, welcoming, selfless, gentle, kind, caring, humble, and family oriented. Anna devoted her life to loving others, touching countless lives. She loved well and was well-loved in return.
