Pawnee, Oklahoma - Betty Sue Colclazier, 88, passed away July 24, 2020 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, Betty was born November 6, 1931, in Three Sands, Oklahoma to O.E. and Bertha (Graham) Failing. Betty was raised in Pawnee and graduated with the Class of 1949, she married Everett Elton Colclazier on May 21, 1949 they settled in Maramec, Oklahoma. Everett and Betty both took positions at Boeing Aircraft Company and lived in Derby, Kansas, but every Friday it was" All Hands On Deck" and the family would drive to the Maramec area to cut, rake, and haul hay and then load up and drive back to Derby to work the weekdays. The couple were hard workers Betty could and would work along side any of the men, she could drive any Tractor that was bought for the family business and could teach the men a thing or two about proper operation of the machinery. Betty was the happiest running the farm and running cattle, a story is told of Betty using a Willy's jeep to pull two rakes behind it, doing raking that no one could do as well as she did it. Betty retired from Boeing Aircraft Company after 43+ years in the personnel office. Everett Elton Colclazier passed August 11, 1995. Betty is survived by her son, Randy Colclazier of Pawnee, Oklahoma, one brother, Jack Failing of Redding, Kansas, one sister in law, Racine Colclazier, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Betty will be missed by all who knew her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Orville Failing and Ted Failing, one sister, Patsy Roberson. Graveside services are Wednesday 10:00 A.M. July 29, 2020 in the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee with Rev. Johnny Wagner officiating.
