Bobby  Clary
Bobby Leland Clary, 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at his home in Stillwater. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 1:30pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Dighton Marler Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. The family will be receiving visitors at the Funeral home starting at 12:30 on Saturday.

Bobby was born on August 14, 1938 in Jesup, Georgia to J. Edward and Ada (Higginbotham) Clary. He grew up in Odum, Georgia. He graduated from Odum High School in 1956. After high school he married Freida Irene Ogden on December 18, 1957 in Odum, Georgia.

In 1960 he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. In 1969 he was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Engineering from Oklahoma State University. From 1960 - 1965 he was an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering at State University of New York, Agricultural and Technical Institute in Alfred, New York. From 1965 - 1966 he was Professor at Polk Junior College, Bartow Florida, and from 1966 - 1968 he was a Graduate Research Assistant - Oklahoma State. In 1968 - 1971 he became the Assistant Professor of Agricultural Engineering - Oklahoma State and from 1971 - 1978 he was an Associate Professor Agricultural Engineering - Oklahoma State. From 1978 - 1993 he was Professor Agricultural Engineering - Oklahoma State and from 1993 - Present he was Professor Emeritus Agricultural Engineering - Oklahoma State. He was the President of Wayne Engineering from 1980 - 2009.

In addition to numerous national and regional awards recognizing Bobby's accomplishment as an Educator, Researcher and Engineer, he also served as the Chief of the Agricultural and Food Industries Branch of the Energy Research and Development Administration in Washington DC for 1 year, during this time he also served as a NATO representative in Brussels, Belgium.

Even with all of his professional accomplishments, Bobby's greatest joy came from raising his family and watching his influence pass through multiple generations.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jesse and Gene, three sisters, Virginia Anderson, Aletha Anderson and Gladys Clary.

He is survived by his wife Irene., his children Debbie Hanni and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, OK., Teresa Ferguson and husband Danny of Stillwater, OK., and Doug Clary and wife Paula of Veneta, OR. He is also survived by his siblings Sammy Clary of Odum, Ga., Kelly Clary and wife Jane of Eatonton, Ga., Eleanor Harvey and husband Mad of Odum, Ga., and Revis Clary and wife Gail of Odum, Ga. He is survived by his grandchildren, Kurtis Hanni and wife Samantha, Molly Ligon and husband Daniel, Logan Hanni and wife Morgan, Adam Ferguson and wife Yulia, Aaron Ferguson and wife Ashley and Andrew Ferguson, and his great grandchildren, Liam Hanni, Avery Ferguson, Alley Ferguson, and Claire, Katie and Sky Ligon.

Memorial donations can be made in his name to the Parkinson Foundation, c/o Dighton Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington St., Stillwater, Ok., 74075.
