Stillwater, Oklahoma - Darrel Wayne Overholt, 95, of Stillwater, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in Stillwater to Jesse and Ora Overholt, Darrel was the fourth of seven children. After graduating from Stillwater High School in 1948, he attended Oklahoma A&M, studying Animal Science. In 1949, he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Trumbla, and the two married soon after, sharing more than 74 wonderful years together.

Darrel built a lifelong career in the cattle industry, working across the U.S. and Canada before returning to Stillwater to raise his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and "Papa," who loved nothing more than time with his family — whether at a ballgame, on the farm, or pulling grandkids through the snow on a tractor.

A loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, Darrel also enjoyed hunting, golfing, OSU Athletics, and telling stories that grew better with each retelling.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, and several family members. Those who will forever cherish his memory include his daughters Becky Szlichta, Ora Morgan, Karen McKinney, and Allyn Bigelow (Jim); his brother Bill Overholt, his seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Karman Legacy Hospice Fund.
