Guthrie, Oklahoma - Harold Flasch, a lifelong resident of a farm near Coyle, Oklahoma, was born May 22, 1924, and passed away December 24, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
He was the youngest of seven children born to John and Julia (Hacker) Flasch. Harold was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Guthrie. He graduated as Salutatorian from Coyle Public School in 1941 and served one year in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in California during World War II.
After military service, Harold returned to farming near the Cimarron River, raising wheat and cattle. He studied Animal Husbandry at Oklahoma State University and also served for 20 years as a substitute rural mail carrier. He married Neva Joy Childers on July 15, 1956.
Harold had a lifelong love of sports, playing baseball and softball well into his senior years, and he enjoyed attending Coyle school sporting events with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Flasch; brothers John A., Otto, and Herman Flasch; and sisters Hilda Kaiser, Bertha Nobbe, and Minnie Flasch.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Flasch; children Chris Flasch (Brenda), Julie Weathers (M. Shane), and Jeanine Cory (Nick); grandchildren Jordan (Myrthe), and Lindsay Flasch, Ryan (Tara), Jared (Dusty), and Brendon Weathers, and Anna Joy and Luke Cory; and great-grandchildren Otto, Ike, and Lucia Flasch, and Kyler, Jordyn, and Scotty Joy Weathers.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Coyle Cemetery.
