It was there she met her husband, Jerry D. Rackley who was a 2nd Lieutenant stationed at Ft. Sill. They were married on January 1, 1956. Their first child, Laura, was born in October of that year. Their son, Jerry W., was born 5 years later.

Among their many stops were tours of duty in New Delhi, India, and Jakarta, Indonesia. There were also multiple stops in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and northern Virginia. During her husband's tours in Korea and Vietnam, she stayed with her family in Pond Creek. When Jerry retired in 1977 she made her final move to Stillwater, Oklahoma where Jerry started his second career in the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology at Oklahoma State University. It was in Stillwater that Ina Lou became very involved in the local Republican Party as well as becoming involved in local church congregations. She was organist at First Baptist Church in Stillwater for 35 years, serving in that role until a few months before her death.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2014, and her daughter in 2016.
