Cushing, Oklahoma - Sarah Irene Crawford was born October 13, 1926, to Claude and Florence (Fillmore) Broyles in Ripley, Oklahoma. She departed this life on February 19th, 2025, at the age of 98 years.

Irene, the second of four daughters, was raised in Ripley, graduating from Ripley High School. She then attended Oklahoma A&M for several years, majoring in home economics. She was united in marriage to William Jack Crawford on May 5, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1977.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served at many funeral dinners. She worked for Dr. Edward M Thorps office from 1950 - 1987.

Irene enjoyed working outside; she would be seen mowing her yard well into her late 80's, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed canning and was known to bestow them on her friends.

Survivors include her children, Janet Levine of Norman, Oklahoma and Mike Crawford and wife, Juanita, of Canadian, Oklahoma; two sisters, Marie Wyatt and Betty Harper; seven grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was preceded in death by son-in-law, Michael Levine; sister, Fern Urban and brothers-in-law, John Urban, Jerry Wyatt and Johnny Harper.

A celebration of Irene's life will be 2:00 p.m. on February 25, 2025 in the First United Methodist Church.
