James Leonard Hunt (Len) Obituary

Redfield, AR - James Leonard "Len" Hunt passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on November 11, 1945, in Carlisle, Arkansas, to Athel Preston Hunt and Rachel Berniece Oliver Hunt. From the very beginning, his life was rooted in family, a value he carried with him every day. Len leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Sue Elizabeth Nixon Hunt, his parents, and his precious granddaughter, Katlyn Elizabeth Parker - whom he cherished beyond words. Though their absence was deeply felt, the love they shared remains a lasting part of his story.

After graduating from Valliant High School in 1964, Len held many different jobs in his life including owning multiple prospering businesses. But his favorite was that of a real estate entrepreneur in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tennessee.

Len's greatest pride and deepest joy were his three children, who meant everything to him: William "Bill" Hunt and his wife April of Perkins, Oklahoma; Linda Hunt Batson and her husband Donald of Redfield, Arkansas; and Lori Hunt McDonald and her husband Dan of Redfield, Arkansas. He loved them fiercely and found his greatest happiness in watching their lives grow and flourish.

His most beautiful blessings in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His grandchildren were Katlyn Parker, Bodie Hunt, DJ Batson, Hunter Batson, Ava Batson and Stacy Tucker. Great-grandchildren were Tripp Batson, Abigail Thomas, Sawyer Thomas, and one he never got to meet. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.

Len loved going for long drives and traveling. He was a man defined by his huge, loving heart. To him, family was everything - not just in words, but in the way he lived every single day. He always made sure the people in his life knew they were deeply valued and loved. Although he is no longer with us, the love he gave so generously will continue to guide and surround his family.

A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
