Jerome Vard Sturgeon passed February 10, 2025 at his home in Stillwater. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the First Christian Church, 411 W. Mathews Ave. Stillwater, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Cimarron Valley Cemetery north of Lacey, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Jerry was born on February 28, 1955 and lived on the Sturgeon Ranch near Lacey and the Cimarron River. He moved with father Roy V., mother Ruth, and sister Vickie to Stillwater for Roy V. to attend OAMC. Jerry was involved in Boy Scouts, Wrestling and Gymnastics. He graduated in 1973 from C.E. Donart High School, Stillwater. Jerry was also a graduate of Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva and Meridian Technology Center, Stillwater. He was a member of Sigma Theta Kappa Fraternity formed in Alva.

Jerry worked in various positions at Oklahoma State. He also worked with his father in Plant Health Services, an ag consulting firm. After two marriages and a stint in Anniston, AL, Jerry returned to Stillwater committed to caring for his mother and father as they aged. He worked at OSU Information Technology as Technology Support at the Help Desk. Jerry was known for his patient, understandable assistance to those befuddled by computer technology.

Jerry stayed and cared for his parents Roy V., who passed in 2018, and Ada Ruth, who passed in 2022.

Jerry is survived by his older sister, Vickie of Stillwater. With his parents and all the aunts and uncles gone, Jerry maintained contacts with "The Cousins". He also kept ties with his Fraternity Brothers.
