Jerry was born on July 29, 1946, in Tulare, California to proud parents John Benjamin and Thelma (McFarlin) Wittman. Jerry was baptized at 15 years old by Brother Cecil Rossiter into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. He graduated High School from Tulsa Union and was drafted into the United States Army where he served from 1965-1967 as a Sergeant E-5. After his honorable discharge, Jerry married the love of his life Gloria Easlon on June 28, 1968, in Tulare. To this union Scott, Lana, Casandra, Gayla, Shane, Kimberly and Valarie were born. They moved to Stillwater in 1971 where they made their home. Jerry worked for many years at Allied Tile with his brother Ronnie. Growing up the family spent countless weekends in the summer camped at the lake, but always taking clothes and making it to church! He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing which he passed on to his sons. On March 25, 1990, Jerry was ordained as an Elder in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He never met a stranger and spent hours preaching and sharing the miracles he had seen with anyone who would listen; many even called him the "Wal-Mart Preacher." Jerry was not only a father to his children but adopted many as his own and provided council and guidance as a spiritual father. Above all, Jerry loved the Lord and served Him faithfully until his last day here on earth. His infectious smile will never be forgotten, it always lit up any room he was in.
