Hillsboro, Oregon - With faith in God's eternal love we share the passing of our beloved son, Matthew Chan Lim, who entered into the presence of the Lord on the evening of March 6, 2026, in Hillsboro, Oregon, at the age of 40.

Matthew was born on December 20, 1985, in Muskogee, Oklahoma—a proud "Okie" whose life journey reflected both determination and grace. He attended schools in Muskogee and Stillwater, and graduated from Oklahoma State University in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Matthew began his professional career as a Sports Editor for The Seminole Producer, The Wewoka Times, and The Konawa Leader, where he shared his love of storytelling and community.

His pursuIt of growth earned him a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University´s H. John Heinz III College and a graduate certificate in Mining Massive Data Sets from Stanford University.

He dedicated many years to serving the City of Portland first as an intern then as an analyst at the Portland Bureau of Transportation, and later as a Level IV Applications Analyst for the City´s Bureau of Technology Services. Matthew found purpose in his work and joy in contributing to others´ lives.

Matthew lived with a vibrant spirit— full of energy, curiosity, and the desire to experience life deeply. Through personal challenges, Matthew experienced God´s constant and redemptive love, finding renewed faith that brought him peace and wholeness. As Psalm 34:18 reminds us "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and serves those who are crushed in spirit". We take comfort knowing he is now at peace in God's presence .

Matthew's life was a blessing to all who knew him. His kindness, humor, generosity, and boundless energy touched many lives. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Khierra Parker and her son Roman; his parents, Melchor and Yolanda Lim; his siblings, Jonathan and Melissa; and his brother in-law, Todd Kuebler.

Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice in the gift of his life and the assurance that we will see him again.
