Leland, North Carolina - Robert "Bob" Harding, born on March 12th, 1926, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 surrounded by family at his retirement home in Leland, North Carolina.


Mr. Harding was a longtime resident of Stillwater, OK, where he lived for more than 40 years and was a familiar and valued member of the community. In his later years, he resided in Leland, North Carolina, where he spent his final days comforted by loved ones.


He is survived by his beloved wife, Madaline Harding; his daughter, Sheila Lugenbuehl and husband Michael Lugenbuehl; his granddaughters, Denay Scharpf and husband Tom Scharpf, and Renay Houck and husband Brian Houck; and his cherished great-grandchildren, including five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him home with open arms.


Funeral services will be held in Wilmington, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with honor.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org), an organization dedicated to honoring and supporting America's heroes.


Bob will be remembered for his long life well lived, his love for his family, and the legacy of kindness and strength he leaves behind.
