Tessa Marie Lazor Obituary

Cushing, OK - Tessa Marie Lazor was born June 7th, 1984, in Glens Falls, NY to parents Colin Hagadorn and Diane (Doubleday) Green. She was raised in the Lake Luzerne, NY and Penrose, Colorado areas. Tessa was a graduate of Hadley-Luzerne Central School District with the Class of 2002.

Afterwards she attended Plattsburg State University of New York obtaining her bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts followed by her master's degree in Curriculum Education. Tessa knew at very young age that she wanted to be a teacher and that it was God's plan to have her touch the hearts of young children. She began her teaching career at Corinth Elementary in New York, before moving to Oklahoma. Tessa was a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher at Stillwater Public Schools. During this time, she developed a deep love for the community and OSU never passing up an opportunity to chant and raise the guns for "Go Pokes." She also taught 3rd grade for six years in Cushing where she made heart felt connections with many kids and their families. Recently she had begun a new venture with the Career and Professional Development Department at Oklahoma CareerTech.

During her high school years, Tessa spent some time with family in Penrose, Colorado. At that time she met a boy named Cayle that she would stay in touch with through the years. After college, Tessa returned to Colorado and reconnected with Cayle after some stubborn courting on both ends. They began dating in 2010 and were married June 2, 2012. Tessa immediately embraced the role of "wife to team roper" and loved traveling the country attending rodeos and events with Cayle.

In January 2011, they made the move to Oklahoma and purchased their home in Cushing. There she started her "country life" transition from the "Adirondack lifestyle" she had always known. From driving the tractors to nursing bottle calves, Tessa wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty and loved all the animals. In addition to her teaching career, she was an integral part of their family businesses, Lazor Hay & Cattle and LZ Ag Services.

Tessa could see the raw beauty in every situation, no matter how dark or dim. She was the ultimate gift-giver, putting so much heart and personalization into each one. From her family to her students, Tessa was always their absolute "biggest fan." Her nieces and nephews loved receiving her messages and videos of her day-to-day happenings on the farm. One of her favorite quotes that she lived by was "they may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel?"

Tessa loved traveling and taking trips. Anytime she went back home to New York she stopped to get Cheez Doodles and ship them back to Oklahoma (because Cheetos just weren't good enough.) She never skipped a trip or two to Bon's Ice Cream and Biscuits Bakery. Food was definitely close to Tessa's heart; her students regularly bought her Chick-fil-a gift cards to spoil her.

On April 24, 2023, Tessa passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family. She will forever be remembered for the way she brought light, to a room or a heart. Tessa was always conscious of how her actions might positively affect someone's life, or even the world. Although God never blessed her with children of her own, she was without a doubt a mother to many.

She is survived by her husband Cayle and their dogs Frank and Casey of Cushing, OK; her mother, Diane Green of Morrison, OK; her father, Colin Hagadorn of Hadley, NY; her sisters, Kellen and husband AJ Haas of Lake Luzerne, NY, Amanda Walker of Queensbury, NY; brothers and sister-in-law, Cameron Lazor of Ada, OK, and Riley and wife Shannon South of Ada, OK; nephews, Wyatt Haas and Grayson Dingman; niece, Scarlett Marie Haas; grandmother, Shirley Doubleday of Canon City, CO; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
