Wallace E. Sadler
Wallace E. Sadler passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma surrounded by family. He was 93. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
A Celebration of Wallace's life will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2PM at Mehan Church in Stillwater with Rev. Paul Dawson officiating.
Wallace was born October 17, 1926 in Carney, Oklahoma to James Alfred and Della (Gaither) Sadler. Right after graduating high school in 1945, he joined the United States Army and faithfully served his country. Then, on May 12, 19 he and Billie Everett were married in Maysville, LA.
Wallace was a carpenter by trade. He loved building things and tinkering around with woodworking hobbies. He had some of the best fun working with the Baptist Association helping build churches around the country. He was one of the founding members of Southside Baptist Church in Stillwater where he enjoyed teaching Sunday school classes, song leader, and singing specials at church. He loved reading the Bible and telling everyone about Jesus.
He enjoyed gardening and was known for raising some the best tomatoes in Payne County. He and Billie would often fuss about the squirrels stealing his garden grub. He and Billie would always find time to team up with close family members and travel
Survivors include his three children, Gary Sadler (Sheryl) of Stillwater, OK., Jim Sadler (Ann) of Ponca City, OK., and Linda Matheson (Roger) of Stillwater, OK; ten grandchildren, Christy Zambrano (David) of Arizona, Mike Sadler of Enid, OK, Joe Sadler (Lisa) of Ripley, OK, Jamie Clasby of Stillwater, OK, Michelle Mills (Jeremy) of Stillwater, OK, Shannon Renshaw (Kenny) of Yale, OK, Sean Day , Chad Matheson, and Jamey Matheson (Tracey) all of Stillwater, OK, and Brooke Matheson of Kansas; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years; and one son, Wally Sadler.
