Wanda Sloan
Wanda (Kite) Sloan, 85, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Services will begin at 10:30am on October 26, 2019 at Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater, with Paul Anderson and Paul Weece officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda was born on May 21, 1934 to Charles M. Kite and Lizzie L. Lunsford in Stillwater. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1952. On June 30, 1952, Wanda married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Sloan. They were inseparable and spent 62 years together until his passing in 2014.

She kept an immaculate home and was an incredible cook who was famous for her delicious homemade pies. Her recipes, written in perfect penmanship, will be treasured by her family. When she wasn't warming up the plates in the oven, she was working with Bob outside in the yard or reading the newspaper and People magazine. She was very well versed in both politics and pop culture.

Wanda had a heart for service whether it was washing baptismal robes for the church or volunteering at the polls on Election Day. She cared for many relatives in their time of need and participated in various volunteer activities

She was a long-time member of Sunnybrook Christian Church and, along with her Sunday School group, the Primetimers, went on many trips including various missions in the United States and Central America.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lizzie Kite, and her siblings, Wayne Kite, Glen Kite, Mildred Hardy; her husband, Bob; and her son, Scott.
She is survived by her sons, Randy and Mark Sloan; grandchildren, Hallie and Shawn Fetzer, Jessica, Alison, Austin, Neelie, Parker, and Nicholas Sloan.

Those wishing to honor Wanda may do so by memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 841125 Dallas, TX 75284-1125.
