Poteau, Oklahoma - Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sonja, three daughters, Anna Brigance and husband James of Poteau, Ok., Jordan Gentry and Adam Mason of Austin, TX. Sara Chesney and Husband Colton of McAlester, Ok. One sister, Coleen Adcock of Riverside, Calif., five grand children, Hank and Graham Brigance, Bailey, Blake and Molly Chesney, cousins , Thresa Moser, John Gentry, wife Karen, their daughter and husband Brooke and Leon Williams, and son Miles. Nephews Bret and wife Nancy Moser, Brad and Sharman Moser, Gary and Mandy Adcock, Joe and Tiffany Adcock. Numerous loved ones, great nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Belford and Mildred Gentry of Chickasha, Ok.

Bill, a proud graduate of Chickasha High School and Oklahoma State University with a degree in PhD Clinical Psychology and honored to be inducted into the CHS Athletic Hall of Fame. He dedicated his life to his three beloved daughters, actively participating in in their lives through school events, traveling volleyball and softball games and creating cherished memories together, including family dinners on the roof and fork- free spaghetti Sundays. An avid supporter of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Bill had a special place in his heart for the Pete's Pet Posse animal therapy program on campus. He enjoyed maintaining his first car, a classic '57 Chevy affectionately named "Sam". With a fulfilling career as a Psychologist and Employee Assistance Program Coordinator at OSU for 29 years, he touched the lives of many.

In 2023, Bill and Sonja relocated to Poteau to be closer to the daughters and grandchildren. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
